Algonquin Park Region Trip Planner
Welcome to Algonquin Park Region!
The jewel of northeastern Ontario is the Algonquin Park Region, a vast wilderness that stretches 7700 sq km (nearly 3000 sq mi). All seasons offer unique activity opportunities. Spring boasts superb trout fishing, and moose are plentiful for those who wish to enjoy wildlife viewing. Camping and interpretive programs are popular summer activities, especially for those hoping for a unique experience with canoe-in sites or overnight accommodations in a yurt. Fall brings a spectacular display of colour amongst the forests and is considered the most beautiful time of year in the park. Go cross-country skiing and snowshoeing on a wintry playground, or view deer, moose, foxes, otters and wolves. Visit the Algonquin Visitor's Centre, which features history exhibits, art displays, a restaurant and a bookstore. The Algonquin Logging Museum offers videos on the area's logging history and a replica exhibit. Both facilities are open year-round, however hours vary from season to season.
